“The Office” premieres tonight!

If you don’t watch this show or don’t think it’s funny, you suck at life.

Update: Michael Jackson on L’uomo Vogue cover

At last, color photos! The clothes are definitely Roberto Cavalli and it looks like a few new details (see cuffs and tuxedo lapels) have crept into Mike’s style standards. This could work.

How’s the album coming, Mr. Jackson??? I would love to buy a box of 50 and give them away as Christmas presents this year. You seem to be pre-promoting something!

Note: I don’t intend to publicize any high res versions of these photos and will be purchasing at least two copies of the magazine for my personal viewing to compensate for any ethical ambiguity I feel I may have brought upon myself for showing them to you. For true fans, the sheer anticipation of such an important moment is unbearable and deserves at least some appeasement in the meantime… I mean, six years since the last album, two years since the end of public relations Hell and you expect us to twiddle our thumbs?!?

Bush on NCLB: “Childrens do learn.”

I guess that answers his question from 2000, “Is our children learning?”

Insensitive, shameless scumbag capitalizes on national tragedy

ASSOCIATED PRESS–A supporter of Rudy Giuliani’s is throwing a party that aims to raise $9.11 per person for the Republican’s presidential campaign.

Abraham Sofaer is having a fundraiser at his Palo Alto, Calif., home on Wednesday, when Giuliani backers across the country are participating in the campaign’s national house party night…

…Giuliani’s campaign had no immediate comment.

According to the invitation, “$9.11 for Rudy” is an “independent, non-denominational grass-roots campaign to raise $10,000 in small increments to show how many individual, everyday Americans support `America’s Mayor.’”

Giuliani was mayor of New York during [the terrorist attacks on 9/11].

If you think nobody’s interested in Michael Jackson, you’re wrong.

Yesterday, after I posted the L’Uomo Vogue pictures, my traffic spiked to an all-time high for me of 249 unique hits in one day. Today, I’m at 273 284 297 322 and there are still three hours to midnight. By comparison, I had an average of 40 hits a day during the last few weeks and I’ve never reached more than 120 in a single day until yesterday. That may not seem impressive, but who the Hell is Ray Harmon!?!? I’m nobody! Tell me there’s not a correlation and I’ll call you a liar.

Thanks to all the fans leaving positive remarks. I’m just as excited as you. This fall, we’ve got new Madonna, new Mariah, new Britney, new Celine, new Whitney, new Prince…why not new Michael Jackson? It’s been 6 years! It’s time for the man who showed the music industry how to milk an album for two years of promotion to admit that the new marketplace demands a much quicker turnover of product in order for an artist to be successful. Open the factory and just start churning ‘em out, Mike!

Well that was fast…Michael Jackson’s Vogue pictures hit the web!

God bless the Internet for quick turnaround. Below are some of Michael Jackson’s great pics from the L’Uomo Vogue shoot he did in NYC a couple weeks ago, already making their way through the fan forums (and somehow onto PerezHilton, where the gossip queen actually has an underhandedly nice comment). Higher res shots are coming and I’ll definitely be hitting eBay in October for my own copies, but this is a fun preview.

The outfits are by Roberto Cavalli, who will reportedly be helming MJ’s new look, as reported here in the past. If he’s trying for approachability in the next attempt at reaching the masses, he may be stepping in the right direction (the snake is an interesting but probably unsurprising touch). The hair does in fact look like it took three hours to perfect, but the outfit is simple and understated in a good way.

Disclaimer: I don’t purport to own these photos or take credit for snapping them. They are screen captures of video of the portraits taken by a European television show called MAP. I am merely sharing them with the public to generate some free publicity for someone who could certainly use it and definitely deserves it. Please don’t sue me–you’ll just be wasting your time, trust me.

Yet another LSAT prep update

Just took another timed practice test and my score improved 8 points from yesterday. Practice makes better!

Rest in Peace, Marcel Marceau

He was a Holocaust survivor, a genius comedian, and possibly the most influential physical performer of the last century. His onstage brilliance inspired my favorite performer, and there was even a moment when they were going to be performing together on HBO in 1995 (before someone got sick and canceled his concert altogether). He was truly one of the greats, single-handedly reviving his chosen artform. Check him out on YouTube to see why.

Rest In Peace, Alice Ghostley

She was Bernice from “Designing Women” and Esmeralda from “Bewitched,” but Ghostley was also a Tony-winning actress. She will be missed.

Still not satisfied with my LSAT practice scores…

…and I haven’t really given myself the opportunity to take the test several times to bring up the average, what with the deadlines for applications fast approaching. I guess if I wasn’t a grad student this past year, I might’ve devoted more time to LSAT preparation; this would have made it even tougher for me to get into law school in the long run though, since my BS in Music Technology isn’t quite enough to open that door. The MA I expect to earn in May will definitely add points to my application package this Fall.

In a related dilemma, I’d really like to go to a school in the DC area that offers a part-time program so I can continue at my current job. I’m not 100% opposed to entering a program in another attractive location, like NYC, Boston, or the Raleigh/Durham area, but very few reputable law schools offer part-time programs. And there’s the problem of complicating personal ties by scattering across the Eastern Seaboard. No decisions reached in this arena yet.

Oh, and today’s practice test showed me that I’m in need of more improvement in reading comp than in logic games (which I drilled on a few weeks back). I guess the human brain really is like a glass that can only be filled so much without other information spilling out!

I’m stressing today. Time for a cocktail!

“Michael Jackson” by the Mitchell Bros.

A very cute tribute that any fan will love. Love the schematics!
