Currently 6-0. With 2 3 games up and a win in store for tonight, this series could be wrapped up for Boston by tomorrow. That’s exciting! Was ‘04 a fluke or is the Curse really lifted???
Oh, and raise your hand if you looked down into Fenway Park from the top of the Prudential Building in Boston on Wednesday to see them setting up Game 1.
*raises hand*
I just turned in a paper for one of my classes and did all the work I expected to do remotely for my job this week. Now it’s time to kick back again and enjoy the vacation. Tonight, we’re not sure what’s on the agenda (other than my Italian grandmother’s homemade Italian pizza). Tomorrow, it’s off to Boston proper for an education in other excellent food.
So this morning I was up at 6:30 to shower, dress, and email my boss (who has not emailed me back yet…good sign?). I helped mom make breakfast for everyone and visited with Uncle Chuck who stopped in on his way home from dropping off little Anthony at school. Chuck’s visit was followed by Auntie Phyllis, who seemed very excited to show Dave and I Boston at some point this week, though a little frustrated that we didn’t know exactly what we want to do while we’re there. Neither of us has ever been as an adult, so I think our lack of direction on that one is understandable. Next came Chrissy and her two daughters who are incredibly well-behaved and bright, thanks in no small part to their diligent mother.
After the family train, we decided to give Nana a break and head into town to do some shopping and grab lunch. I picked up some new clothes and we showed Mom her first Whole Foods experience. We circled the entire town, grabbed a fast food lunch (but at least ate slowly), and headed back to Nana’s house to find Uncle Chuck had returned and brought Anthony with him fresh from school (by now, it was nearly 3pm). Baked ziti, sausage, and meatballs all made from scratch accompanied by a visit from Uncle Bobby followed shortly thereafter.
When dinner was done, good news came from Uncle Tim who called to personally inform Nana and the rest of us that he is finally home from the hospital and beginning to recover from his ordeal, which is unfortunately not yet over. I pray for a smoother ride to remission from here on out.
That’s the news out of Mass today. I’ve got a paper due tomorrow, so it’s back to the grind for me. Ciao!
We arrived last night around 6. It was a long ride, filled with idiots and slowness over the George Washington Bridge and traffic on the Mass Pike. I think it took 9 hours, with lunch and traffic. Mildly insane. But I’m here and we’re enjoying our visit. I’ll keep you posted.
We hit the road in the morning for New England. You wish you were me!
I just finished watching the DVR of last night’s “The Office” and this has got to be, by far, the best scripted television show in decades. Every week I laugh my ass off and sometimes even well up with tears at how endearing it is and how loving the people are at Dunder Mifflin, despite all the crap they sift through.
This week’s interactions between Pam & Jim and Dwight had so much heart. I can’t believe how good this show is. Seriously! Where was I during season one????
What the Hell was going on with that audience??? He lost like 7 minutes of air time because some weirdo starting shouting, so when security was too slow, Bill ran VERY ANGRILY into the crowd and attempted to whip his ass. They took the guy out of the audience, and Bill sat back down. As soon as he started talking again, another person started shouting. This happened for like 3 more people and Bill asked “why am I not firing my audience staff right now?” and ordered security not to be gentle.
Beautiful trainwreck, and you know how much I love a trainwreck.
Update: Now with video goodness!
*bang bang bang* “FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT, OPEN UP!”
…and they weren’t at the crackhead’s apartment either.
Awesome album. Every song is genius and he stopped doing the silly interludes between songs. The difference between P. Diddy and Kanye is that the Louis Vuitton don doesn’t rip off multiple #1 songs within the confines of a single track and if he uses a sample, it’s typically an unusual choice put to provocative use.
I have a feeling this track is a precursor to something else coming soon. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Thriller,” Kanye’s working with Michael Jackson to remix a song, rumored to be “PYT” (the song heavily sampled below in “Good Life”). Cross-promotion is cost-effective, but a little lazy. Oh well.
Enjoy!
Recommended to Jen a few weeks back. Thought I should extend the favor to the rest of you. Catchy. As. Hell.
Yeah, so last night after class I went to Hillary’s 10th or 11th birthday party in the last 5 days. Needless to say I didn’t get home until 1am and there was no time in the day at all for the three-blog minimum. My apologies.
General updates: Dave took the car to get the oil changed and they took a look under the hood at a few things. Now our check engine light is on. WTF, jerks!?
I get my LSAT scores on Monday. Then we’ll know where I’m applying. I got a letter from Samford University asking me to consider them, and until I opened it I had absolutely no idea what it could be. A few of you will know what’s up with that reaction…
Work is going well. New desk situation puts me in the heart of the action and out of the cubicle farm. It’s nice to have windows all day.
School’s crazy, but completely manageable, which is a big change from last Fall.
How are you?
Totally changes the character of the original track, and I love the “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” sample throughout.
